Ostrava (dt. Mährisch Ostrau) - Vor mehr als 30 Jahren: Eine monumentale Stadt aus Stahl. Bergbau und Hüttenwesen gaben Ostrava die Form und Gestalt, dank welcher die Stadt den Beinamen Stahlherz der Republik erhielt. Heutzutage schlägt das Herz in Rhytmen Musiker aus aller Welt und die Eisenwerke, die in Neonlichtern erstrahlen, schaffen eine einzigartige bunte Kulisse für das Multigenre-Festival Colours of Ostrava. Feiern Sie mit! Entdecken Sie die bunte Stadt und die umliegende Region mit dem wunderschönen Gebirge der Beskiden.


Die Pressereise wird von der Stadt Ostrava und der Region Nordmähren veranstaltet und betreut. Eingeladen sind internationale Teilnehmer, die Kommunikationssprache ist Englisch:

Wednesday, July 15
  • Arrival in Ostrava, transfer to Harmony Hotel (your pickup will be scheduled according to your arrival time).
  • 14:00 Pick-up at the hotel Welcome picnic lunch (location TBA)
  • 16:00 Visit to PLATO – Gallery of Contemporary Art (located in the historic building of the reconstructed former slaughterhouse)
  • Return to the hotel
  • 18:00 Transfer to the Colours of Ostrava festival – accreditation
  • Optional: 19:00 Welcome dinner at Radegast Pub (located inside the festival area)

Thursday, July 16
  • Trip to Pustevny – mountain saddle in the Beskydy Mountains
  • 9:30 Pick-up at the hotel (approx. 45-minute drive)
  • 10:30 Chairlift ride to the top (15 minutes) – Pustevny Chairlift
  • Stezka Valaška – wooden treetop observation walkway
  • Lunch at Libušín – a historic mountain cottage designed by the renowned architect Dušan Jurkovič, built at the end of the 19th century (the restaurant is part of the POJEZ gastro project)
  • Optional: Short walk towards Radhošť – visit to the statue of the pagan god Radegast (approx. 3 km, easy hike) Scooter ride / chairlift / downhill walk back to the parking area
  • Return to Ostrava
  • 17:00 Pick-up at the hotel – transfer to Colours of Ostrava

Friday, July 17
  • 10:00 Pick-up at the hotel, transfer to the Beskydy Mountains
  • 10:30 Boboffka – fun morning at the rope park and alpine coaster
  • 12:00 Transfer to Hotel Cattaleya – MICHELIN Guide Czechia restaurant
  • 12:15 Lunch
  • 14:00 Transfer to Golf Resort Čeladná – Golf Academy
  • 15:30 Transfer back to Ostrava
  • 17:00 Transfer to the festival
  • 19:30 Guided tour of Bolt Tower – a unique superstructure built above Blast Furnace No. 1. The extension rises more than 20 metres and brings the total height of the tower to nearly 80 metres. An exterior circular walkway around a glass cylinder suspended above the original blast furnace structure connects the different levels. Visit to Bolt Café (light refreshments)

  • 9:45 Pick-up at the hotel, transfer to Ostrava-Poruba 10:00 Guided tour of the SORELA district – Socialist Realism architecture
  • 11:00 Transfer to Ema Slag Heap – short hike to the highest point in Ostrava, an active slag heap
  • 12:30 Lunch at La Petite Conversation (Ostrava city centre)
  • 15:00 Behind-the-scenes access to the festival
