Do you like the atmosphere of the Middle Ages? Are you interested in traditional music, singing and festivities in the open air? Then you shouldn’t miss the Tábor Meetings festival (Táborská setkání). For three days every year, the historic centre of South-Bohemian Tábor goes back in time to the first half of the 15th century when Jan Žižka of Trocnov, the Hussite military leader, took over the town. And he doesn’t come alone – he is accompanied by a troop of Hussite warriors, with the sound of drums and the light of torches.
There are processions in historic costumes, concerts of spiritual, medieval and contemporary music, concerts in the open air, a medieval market, an old Bohemian fair, a royal jousting tournament, games and competitions for children.
