    • People who have already had COVID must have a doctor's certificate, which includes: patient’s name and surname, date of birth, residential address and information that the person has recovered from COVID. Based on this confirmation, the person can come to the Czech Republic within 180 days from the date of the positive test for COVID.
  • Before entering the Czech Republic, they must have a confirmation (in English) of a negative antigen test (taken no more than 24 hours before the beginning of the trip (departure of a plane)) or PCR test (taken no more than 72 hours before the beginning of the trip (departure of a plane)). Test results must be from an accredited laboratory (NO self-tests will be accepted). A link to the list of antigen tests that will be recognized within the Member States of the European Union is here.
    • Instead of the above, they can submit a certificate in English of covering from COVID-19 from a doctor operating in the Czech Republic or the EU, if:
      • They do not have symptoms of COVID-19, and they have passed the specified quarantine period after a positive test, and more than 14 days and less than 180 days have passed since their first positive PCR test.
All people entering the Czech Republic from orange countries will still need to observe the conditions for individual restaurants, hotels, etc.

The person can leave the hotel only for emergency reasons – getting food or health reasons.
All people entering the Czech Republic from red countries will still need to observe the conditions for individual restaurants, hotels, etc.

  • Must comply with all listed conditions of the orange countries, with one exception. Confirmation of PCR test results in English must be from an accredited laboratory (NO self-tests will be accepted).
  • In addition, they must undergo a PCR test at the earliest on the 5th day, but no later than the 14th day after entering the Czech Republic. Until the negative result is announced, "self-isolation" applies, meaning….
Vaccination Exceptions
Persons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia do not have to undergo PCR tests. These travelers must provide confirmation of vaccination against COVID-19 in English and at the same time:
  • No less than 22 days and no more than 3 months from the first dose of vaccine (for two-dose vaccines).
  • The two-dose vaccination course has been completed, and less than 9 months have passed since the first dose was given.
  • No less than 14 days, and no more than 9 months after administration of a single-dose vaccine .
These persons do not have to undergo self-isolation after entering the territory of the Czech Republic. In the case of a positive test after arrival in the Czech Republic:
  1. A foreigner who had to fill in a form before arriving in the Czech Republic has provided their place of residence. After performing the PCR test, they will move to that address to self-isolate. If the PCR test is positive, they must stay at that residence. They will be contacted by KHS (Regional Hygiene Station) and will be ordered to quarantine for 14 days.
    1. If there is no mutation (e.g. variants found in Brazil, South Africa, India) and the traveler has quarantined for the last 3 days, the quarantine is automatically terminated on day 15 (test day is day 0).
    2. If there is a mutation, which KHS will notify during the first call, the quarantine will only be terminated after a negative PCR test in consultation with KHS — the length of quarantine will be determined individually with KHS in case of positive tests. The same conditions will apply in the event of a positive test required for return to the home country.
  2. Czechs returning from abroad: the same rules apply, just instead of KHS they will communicate with their general practitioner.
Visas are only granted to embassies of the Czech Republic from low-risk countries (green countries). There are no exceptions for tourism. Only visitors from green countries can travel for tourism reasons, the rest can travel only for specific reasons mentioned above.
