The private rail passenger carrier RegioJet has introduced the new low-cost tariff on the routes in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It should start in March.
The cheapest tickets will be available for CZK 99. For example, the low-cost ticket on the route between Prague and Brno will cost only CZK 140, which is 20% less than the Standard tariff.
However, the service in the train will be the same. The passengers will get a bottle of mineral water and hot drinks for free. The price of the tickets will also include the reservation of the seat, free Wi-Fi and access to the entertainment portal with movies and music.
The Czech company RegioJet was founded in 2009 as a subsidiary of Student Agency. The company has been operating regular passenger railway transport on the Prague – Ostrava – Žilina - Košice route since 2011. As of December 11, there are three RegioJet trains a day between Prague and Brno and two RegioJet trains a day between Prague and Bratislava.
