The selection of establishments has two rounds. Firstly, gastro-associations and personalities from the industry nominate establishments which, in their opinion, deliver the most appealing eating and drinking experiences. Repeating names will go to the finals, where they will always be assessed by three evaluators. These include experts, journalists or influencers from the Czech Republic and nearby countries, under the condition that they must not be professionally associated with Brno – in order to exclude biased evaluations.

The evaluators assessed the taste, the atmosphere, the environment, and the staff, with particular reference to the tourists' point of view. The opinions about the evaluations may differ, but our congratulations go to all 50 Brno and 36 South Moravian establishments that have been placed this year.

"When we started the GOURMET BRNO project, we knew it would be great. In four years, Brno has become a city sought after for its gastronomy, and our guide has also inspired the locals. This year we also introduce its younger brother GOURMET SOUTH MORAVIA and look and see where it goes,’ said Jana Tichá Janulíková, director of Tourist Information Centre BRNO, at the opening ceremony.

"In South Moravia, too, you can eat and drink in a way that you will not forget it. Our most popular tourist attraction is wine, but this is best served with good food. I am delighted that this year this unique project has been extended to the whole region, thus introducing the local gastro scene which is worth traveling for,’ added the director of CCR-JM Pavla Pelánová.
