During the third quarter of 2019, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of visitors to the Czech Republic from Scandinavian countries. Of the 8.3 million foreign tourists who have spent a total of 20 million nights in the country in 2019 so far, almost 330,000 have come from Scandinavian countries.
This positive trend is especially notable on the Swedish and Danish markets and is reflected both in the number of overnight stays and in the average duration of stays in days. As far as specific figures are concerned, almost 125,000 tourists from Sweden have come during the first three quarters of 2019 and they stayed in collective accommodation facilities, which is an increase of 9.07% compared with the previous year.
The number of tourists from Denmark has increased by 12.37% year-on-year, and Denmark is one of the countries whose tourists have the longest duration of stay in the Czech Republic, with an average duration of 3.88 nights. Almost 24,000 tourists have arrived in the Czech Republic from Finland. More than 20,000 tourists have come from Norway.
