Czech Railways (České dráhy) is launching a direct ComfortJet train service connecting Prague with Copenhagen from May 2026, marking the first nonstop connection between the two capitals in over a decade. The route, operated in collaboration with Deutsche Bahn and Danish State Railways (DSB), will traverse Prague–Berlin–Hamburg–Copenhagen, offering two return daily pairs year-round and a third pair during the summer season
The journey will take approximately 11 hours, with further reductions expected once the Fehmarn Belt undersea tunnel is completed. Passengers will travel aboard modern ComfortJet trainsets—ČD’s most advanced long‑distance trains—capable of reaching 230 km/h, equipped with first- and second-class open-plan seating, free Wi‑Fi, mobile signal‑enhancing windows, a dining car, children’s cinema, bike spaces, wheelchair lifts, and more.
This service represents the European Commission’s first successfully implemented pilot project among ten designed to enhance sustainable cross‑border rail travel across Europe.
