New Luxury Hotels Coming to Prague
Prague’s high-end accommodation options are getting a serious upgrade. The local luxury scene is known for offering service, style, and self-care within the carefully preserved beauty of historical architecture.
Hyatt has opened its first property in the Czech Republic, with the unveiling of the five-star Andaz Hyatt Prague. The 176 luxurious rooms are housed in a 1916 building known as the “Sugar Palace” on the edge of Old Town.
 
The Julius Meinl family, European titans of retail and dining, has revealed plans to expand their hospitality influence with the launch of a new long-term stay concept. Dubbed the Julius, the brand draws upon the family’s 160-year legacy of quality and service to embody a timeless standard of European hospitality through a modern lens. The inaugural location, the Julius Prague, is set to open in spring 2022 and will be designed by Milan design firm Matteo Thun & Partners.
 
The latest W Hotel has scored prime real estate right on Wenceslas Square. Renovations (currently underway) will blend the 1905 Art Nouveau style of the former Grand Europa Hotel with contemporary comfort, an appreciation for old and new. Opening is slated for 2023.
 
The Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel is currently renovating prime waterfront property with its fair share of history as the former Brutalist-style InterContinental Hotel. The new five-star, luxury property will hold 297 rooms and suites as well as a spa, drinking and dining, and a grand ballroom. Opening is slated for 2023.
   
Almanac Hotels are bringing their luxury and social responsibility approach to Prague. Almanac’s five-star, 205-room, Art Deco-style hotel along the Vltava River, just east of Prague’s Old Town neighborhood, is set to open in 2023. The hotel will include a “Vital Centrum” of spa experiences and a medical center for a holistic approach to health and hospitality.
