CIOFF – Pilsen International Folklore Festival (June 8 – 12)

The CIOFF® Pilsen International Folklore Festival is a meeting point for lovers of folklore and folk art, attended by folklore ensembles from all over the world each year. Individual festival programmes take place in the historic centre of Pilsen. Hundreds of performers in colourful folk costumes create a unique atmosphere here through folk dance, music and singing. The festival also includes a festive costumed parade through the city, an Old Bohemian faire, demonstrations of folk crafts and traditional folk gastronomy.

Microbrewery Festival Sun in a Glass Pilsen

This festival held at the Purkmistr brewery in Pilsen- Černice combines the best of beer, food and entertainment. In the courtyard, the village next door and at a garden near the Brewery Court, you can sample approximately 150 kinds of beers and specialties that are not ordinarily available. Generally, these beers are produced by more than fifty domestic and foreign microbreweries that will never get together elsewhere in one place. The festival is accompanied by competitions, music and dance performances, tours of beer baths and the Purkmistr brewery, and a beer souvenirs market.
