CZECHIA - PROMISED LAND FOR HORSE LOVERS
Meet the UNESCO Horse Aristocracy
Get to know the equine aristocracy in person! Take a tour of historical stables. Or ride in a carriage drawn by Old Kladruber horses and feel like an aristocrat yourself for a while.

One of the oldest stud farms in the world, nestled in a charming landscape of pastures, riding schools, stables, canals and tree-lined lanes: this is Kladruby nad Labem and the National Stud Farm, home to the Old Kladruber horses, which cannot be found in any other stud farm in the world. They carry the Danish queen and the Swedish mounted police, and on various ceremonial occasions you can also see these four-legged aristocrats at Prague Castle.

Kladruby nad Labem itself is home to the white horses. The National Stud Farm cares for the black ones in the former noble stables in Slatiňany near Chrudim.

National Stud Farm and Landscape for Breeding Horses in Kladruby nad Labem

National Stud Farm and Landscape for Breeding Horses in Kladruby nad Labem

Visit the National Stud Farm in Kladruby nad Labem in East Bohemia. You will see the facilities of one of the oldest still operating stud farms in Europe. Here they breed the oldest variety of Czech coach horses – the Kladruber. Over the centuries of horse breeding and training, even the countryside around the stud farm has been perfectly adjusted to this purpose. Together the stud farm and this unique countryside were registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List as of 2019.
