From Frýdek-Místek All the Way to Boston
David Pastrňák was born in 1996 in Havířov in Silesia, where he also took his first steps in ice hockey. His parents were keen sportspeople, so Pastrňák was close to the game from an early age. From Havířov, he later moved to Södertälje in Sweden, and in 2014 he was selected by the Boston Bruins as the 25th overall pick in the NHL Draft. He joined the first team at just eighteen years old. His performances quickly exceeded expectations – Pastrňák became one of the most dangerous forwards in the league.

In 2023, he played a key role in the best season in the history of the Boston Bruins, who broke the league record for both wins and points. He has always given his all to the Czech national team – already as a teenager he appeared at the 2016 IIHF World Championship, and later shone again at the home championship in 2024 in Prague and Ostrava. Beyond hockey, Pastrňák is active off the ice as well – he supports charity, works with children and openly shares his love of fashion, music and coffee. He is often described as the face of a new generation of athletes – confident and open, yet still humble.
