Manolo Blahnik: The Art of Shoes in Kampa Museum
Museum Kampa presents an exhibition of the shoe magician Manolo Blahnik, whose master´s works became famous in the Czech Republic thanks to the series Sex in the City and the film Marie Antoinette. The exhibition will feature selected pieces from the collections Suntaxa, Architectural Lizzard, Botanical Hoffmann and Art.
Manolo Blahnik was raised by Spanish mother and Czech father on a banana plantation in the Canary Islands, studied law, languages, and art in Geneva and Paris before opening his London boutique in 1973.
His work entered the mainstream, when 'Manolos' became the footwear choice of Carrie Bradshaw in the popular HBO series Sex and the City. He was also asked to create shoes for the film of Sofia Coppola, Marie Antoinette.
