The 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place from 26th December 2019 to 5th January 2020 in Ostrava and Trinec. It is one of the most important events in world ice hockey - regarding its importance, it takes the third place after the Olympic Games and the men’s World Championship. The games with the best ten U20 national teams will be played at Ostravar Arena (with a capacity for almost 10,000 fans) in Ostrava and Werk Arena (can hold 5,200 fans) in Trinec. Both cities are located in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the east of the country close to the border with Poland and Slovakia.
