Austerlitz erupts again - It’s been 210 years since the battle of three emperors
The battle will take place on a Saturday as volunteers in the period uniforms of France, Austria and Russia begin their clash. On Sunday at noon, a commemoration ceremony will commence at the Peace Memorial, where the heaviest fighting of the Battle of Three Emperors, Napoleon I, Francis I and Alexander I raged 210 years ago. The outcome of the battle in southern Moravia close to Brno was crucial to the history of the whole of Europe, which is what the commemorative event involving two thousand volunteers is meant to remember. Every year people from the Czech Republic, Malta, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Germany and Great Britain gather together here. And the list of countries doesn’t end. The program also includes a series of accompanying events in Brno and other places before the battle. There will be a seminar on the history of the Battle of Austerlitz, the campaign, military history and re-enactment held at the Old Post Office u Pozořic on 2 December 2015. A military encampment will take place on the same site 4-6 December 2015, as well as a chance to visit the museum
