Every August, the quiet streets of Zlín in eastern Czechia transform into the stage for one of Europe's most celebrated rally events where the top drivers from this country and abroad will pit their skills against one another. The Barum Czech Rally Zlín, part of the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC), offers a mix of high-speed drama, community tradition, and true motorsport heritage.

A spectacular opening in the heart of Zlín

The action begins on Friday, with the famous Super Special Stage in Zlín, the town made famous around the world by master shoemaker Tomáš Baťa. The stage is one of the most spectacular urban tests in the FIA European Rally Championship. Throughout the afternoon and evening, visitors can enjoy a packed motorsport programme including historic rally cars, vintage racing vehicles, drift shows, and demonstrations by legendary rally machines before Europe's best crews take to the track. The opening day traditionally concludes with a fireworks display above the city.

Thrilling stages through the Zlín region

This year's route features 13 special stages covering 205.79 kilometres through the picturesque Zlín region, famous for its vernacular architecture and folk traditions. It combines fast forest sections, technical asphalt roads, and legendary tests that have shaped the rally's reputation. Another tradition is the oldtimer Star Rally – Barum Rally Zlín Historic, which is hugely popular with fans.

Beyond Racing

Barumka isn't just about speed—it offers a rich off-track program as well:

  • Fan zones, driver autograph sessions & Q&As

  • Historic car exhibitions, live bands, and children’s entertainment

  • Insights into the service area in Otrokovice: meet crews, watch mechanics at work, and see rally cars up close

  • A professional environment for emerging talents in the ERC Junior category

Tip for a truly exclusive experience:

If you want to experience something truly unique during the Barum Rally, book yourself a helicopter flight above the rally↗ or a ride in the passenger seat↗ in a racing special.

Beyond the racing, the rally creates a lively festival atmosphere throughout the region, with fan zones, ceremonial starts, food stalls and opportunities to meet drivers. Combining world-class motorsport with the modernist architecture of Zlín and the scenic landscapes of the Zlín Region makes Barum Rally one of Europe's most distinctive rally weekends.
