Recharge your energy in the spa town of Dubí, which was regularly visited by Goethe. The treatments, exceptionally clean air, earning the title of "climatic" for the spa, and the beautiful mountainous nature have been attracting visitors since 1870. You must not miss the exhibition of traditional Czech onion porcelain!

Tereza's Spa (Tereziny lázně)

The heart of this charming spa town, located at the foot of the Krušné Mountains, which regularly hosted the German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe, is Tereza's Spa. In addition to unique therapeutic procedures that mainly focus on the treatment of musculoskeletal and nervous disorders, you can enjoy relaxing walks in the forest park. It includes a tennis court, mini-golf course, Russian skittles, and an outdoor swimming pool. The spa is fully wheelchair accessible.

In the vicinity of the spa, you can embark on numerous hiking trails, such as to the game preserve with a hunting lodge near Mstišov or to the Railway Museum housed in a historic railway building.

Venetian Church of Santa Maria dell Orto alla Dubí

Just a few meters from Tereza's Spa, you will encounter a real gem, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary inspired by the Venetian Church of Santa Maria dell Orto. The temple is an exceptional example of the northernmost construction of Venetian architecture in the entire Czech Republic.

Traditional Czech Blue Onion Porcelain - Exposition and Factory Tours

What souvenir to take from Dubí? In addition to spa wafers, opt for traditional Czech porcelain. Dubí is the birthplace of the true Czech porcelain legend - Czech blue onion porcelain, so-called "cibulák". With its simple-in-terms-of-colours yet highly decorative design, the porcelain has been adorned in Dubí since 1885! You can view the most beautiful pieces at the local Porcelain Museum in the House of Porcelain with Blue Blood.

Or better yet, see how such a painted porcelain cup or plate is made! Arrange a factory excursion at the Český porcelán (Czech Porcelain) plant, the only place in the Czech Republic where the original technology to decorate is still used. You will learn about the preparation of porcelain mass and various methods of creating porcelain products. You'll get warmed up by the firing ovens, see how the basic elements of the onion motif are transferred onto the porcelain shard, and of course, get a glimpse of the painters at work.

It probably won't surprise you that Dubí is one of the stops on the international Porcelain Trail.
