An Opening Celebration and Tips for Interesting Events
The European presidency will open with a 
concert of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in 
Rudolfinum in Prague on 
8 July. 
DOX, the centre for contemporary art, is also preparing a special programme. Another international exhibition will take place during the autumn 
Designblok in Prague. The 
Rückl glass factory has created interesting official and protocol gifts in the form of glasses and carafes made of Bohemian crystal. The 
Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou is opening an exhibition entitled 
the European Table: 
North Bohemian glassmakers made 27 pairs of wine glasses 
symbolising the member countries of the European Union. The special 
Concert for Europe in Prague on 2 September will be performed on a unique floating scene by River Vltava at the Slavonic Island within the 
Prague Sounds festival.
