A Stunning Experience
After two years of extensive renovation, the Prague Planetarium is reopening to the public, this time with a truly revolutionary technology. Thanks to the modernisation and the installation of the first fully digital LED planetarium in Europe – which also happens to be the largest in the world – the Prague Planetarium now ranks among the absolute top world observatories. And it is transforming the way we, as Earth-dwellers, can experience outer space.
The new system offers such contrast, brightness, and resolution that, when combined with the large-scale dome, it creates a truly immersive visual experience. When only stars appear in the sky, visitors may almost physically feel as though they have stepped into infinity.

Technological Revolution
Thanks to collaboration with Cosm Technology, the planetarium introduces a revolutionary LED system which, compared to traditional projectors, delivers up to one hundred times higher light output, allowing for incredible contrast and image realism.
However, the Prague Planetarium is not just about technology. Education and accompanying programmes also play a vital role. In addition to a top-class visual experience, it also offers an innovative approach to the popularisation of astronomy.
In the Heart of a Beautiful Park
Visitors to the planetarium in Prague will also appreciate the greenery of the surrounding Stromovka Park, where they can take a walk, relax, or even enjoy a picnic. Right next door is the Prague Exhibition Grounds complex, where the roofs of the Křižík Pavilions have been transformed into green terraces. These serve both public and private events, offering a place to unwind or have fun, a small running track, and a beautiful view of Prague.
