A widespread power outage affected several regions of Czechia, including parts of Prague, around noon on Friday, July 4, 2025, disrupting transportation and essential services. Power supplies were restored on Friday evening.
The airport was operating normally
The blackout brought tram and metro services across most of Prague to a standstill, and affected other operations such as shops, restaurants, and ATMs.
Metro services in Prague reportedly resumed, and tram lines were gradually restored. However, some trains departing from Prague remained out of service or faced significant delays. Václav Havel Airport in Prague was reported to be operating normally.
