The awarding of the prestigious MICHELIN Key marks a new milestone for Czechia. Similar to the world-famous MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, MICHELIN Keys celebrate hotels that deliver exceptional quality and memorable experiences for their guests.
Prague Leads the Way

In the Czech Republic, most MICHELIN Keys were awarded to hotels in Prague: BoHo Prague Hotel, The Julius Prague, Four Seasons Hotel Prague, Andaz Prague, Augustine – Luxury Collection Hotel, Almanac X Alcron Prague and Mosaic House. A particularly notable achievement goes to five-star hotel Fairmont Golden Prague, which received two MICHELIN Keys.

Outside the Czech capital, the awards also recognised Chateau Mcely in the Central Bohemian Region, Hotel Perk in Šumperk, and Villa Julius & Emma in Karlovy Vary.
Service Quality and Genius Loci
The MICHELIN Guide announced the launch of its first global MICHELIN Key Selection in October 2025. The MICHELIN Key evaluates hotels worldwide in a manner similar to MICHELIN Stars for restaurants – but focusing on service quality, individuality, atmosphere, and authenticity. Anonymous inspectors assess not only comfort and facilities but also how well each hotel reflects the spirit of its surroundings.
The awards are categorised as follows:
One Key – an outstanding stay that exceeds local standards.
Two Keys – an exceptional hotel worth seeking out.
Three Keys – a world-class hospitality icon, offering an unforgettable experience.
