Set out for the historical city of Kutná Hora in search of modern art. You will find the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK) in one of the city’s dominant features, in the extensive Baroque Jesuit College. The gallery specialises in fine art of the 20th and 21st centuries, but does also showcase older art in short-term exhibitions. In the permanent exhibition, you will learn how Czech art of the 20th century developed. The Education Centre will ensure that your children will not get bored in the gallery. Buy a discount ticket which you can use to visit the gems of Kutná Hora: the gallery, nearby St. Barbara’s Cathedral, the unique Ossuary and the Church of the Assumption of our Lady.
Apart from modern art, the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region also has on display a medieval illumination depicting the mining and processing of silver. The item originates in Kutná Hora and dates back to the 15th century.  From the southern tower of the building, you will have a unique view of the entire city fronted by its iconic building – the Gothic Church of St. Barbara. You can now also visit the restored gardens. In summer months and on selected days, we recommend you to enjoy an evening view as well.
