Stone Fountain in Kutná Hora
The pearl of Rejskovo Square
The magnificent beauty of this fountain, dating from the late 15th century, is an accurate symbol of how the locals valued precious water.
In the Middle Ages, water had to be conveyed into the city by wooden piping, several kilometres long, opening into several water tanks. The fountain is located on a picturesque square and neighbours several representative civic houses. It served as a reservoir of drinking water until 1890.
