The Industrial Palace: What can you see and do here?
With its monumental central hall, elegant iron-and-glass architecture and distinctive historic character, the building quickly became one of Prague’s most recognisable landmarks. Its richly decorated interiors, colourful paintwork and striking stained-glass windows add distinctive elements to the palace, highlighting the ornamental character of its historic architecture.
Today, the palace remains an impressive reminder of Prague’s industrial and architectural heritage, while its restored spaces continue to serve as an important venue for cultural and social events.
Reconstruction and Reopening
A major chapter in the palace’s recent history was the 2008 fire, which severely damaged the building’s left wing. For years, the burned section remained an important reminder of the disaster, while plans were developed to restore the palace and bring the damaged wing back to life. The reopening of the reconstructed wing in September 2026 marks an important milestone in the history of the Industrial Palace.
Whether you come for a specific event or simply want to explore one of Prague’s historic landmarks, the Industrial Palace offers an interesting glimpse of the city where history, culture and modern Prague meet.
