Prague Castle was traditionally the most visited destination, but tourists also loved the industrial sights of Dolní Vítkovice, Aqualand Moravia, the zoo in Zlín, Ossuary in Kutná Hora or Kamenice Gorge in the Bohemian Switzerland. The chart is diverse and includes a wide range of places from all over the Czech Republic.
In 2018, 2.44 million people visited Prague Castle, which makes this Czech site the most visited place in the Czech Republic. In second place is the funicular to Petřín (2.03 million visitors), the Prague Zoological Garden was the third most visited place with 1.4 million visitors, Lower Vítkovice with 1.35 million visitors is in fourth place, and bringing up the rear of the TOP five is AquaPalace Praha with one 0,8 million visitors.
The chart of the most visited places was also influenced by the gradual expansion of the portfolio of surveyed objects. Thus, Aqualand Moravia made it into the top ten, as well as Petřín Lookout Tower, Pinkas Synagogue, Zoo Zlín-Lešná and the Old Town Hall.
Within individual categories: Český Krumlov, Lednice and Hluboká nad Vltavou are among the most popular castles (except Prague Castle); the most attractive museums are the Trade Fair Palace in Prague or the Museum of Forestry, Hunting and Fishing in the South Bohemian Ohrada Castle. Among the natural beauties, tourists prefer the Hřensko Gorges or the Pravčice Gate in the Bohemian Switzerland, or the Punkva Caves with Macocha Abyss in the Moravian Karst.
